chris. >> reporter: good evening, lucy. taney dragons just stepped in the batting cagees, about right behind me here, at the will yams for the little league world series complex. luckily rain won't be a factor here tonight, the sunnies now, shining, it looks like we will get this game on. you can see behind me there is a game going on japan/south korea, you see all the people behind me make no mistake they are all here for taney little league. as i said field was covered for most of this day, many coming up from philadelphia were worried they would have to postpone this game but, of course, the skies cleared and they were able to get this in. all around the complex it is taney fever. mid-atlantic merchandise has been sold out for days. everyone is talking about phenom mone davis, several bus loads of fans arrived here a little while ago some getting up here early staking their spot in line five hours before

game time. we caught up with a couple other taney little leaguers, some from other age groups who say they could not be more proud of their friends who are now instant celebrities. >> i know a lot of them and i talk to them and people asking for their autographs. they are like celebrities. i mean i never thought they would make it this far, you know, it is insane i just don't think i have grasp it yet. >> mone davis how can you not root for best girl to ever play in little league. personal leader to be on the cover of sports illustrated. it is crazy. >> reporter: just how crazy is it? just how popular is this team? well, the newly elect baseball commissioner rob manfreddie's scheduled to arrive here in just a few moments. he came here no doubt to see taney dragons and see pitching performance of possibly someone who could be in the major leagues in the future

one but they are trying to bring it here to city hall. they have popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, everything you could want, obviously taney dragons have become a household story. everyone in the city. everyone really in the state is talking about the the 12 year-old and 13 year-old mone davis, of course. here's one fan's take on why they have caught on like wild fire. >> they are resilient and they never give up. we are just like philly. we could be down nine or ten runs and come back. so they are never out of the game. they don't let everything that is going on, affect them. they just play their game. they know what they want. >> reporter: spirit of philadelphia, that is why fans love these group of 12 and 13 years old. obviously a pep rally starts in 25 minutes, the game hoping to start in an hour and 25 minutes. we will be here for the whole thing and capture the excitement and have that report for you tonight on the fox 29 news at ten, back to

stand trial for brown's death. we are following these developing stories on my fox philly.com. watch the president's remarks and get latest breaking details just look for a link on the home page. a huge hole in the wall of a northeast philadelphia shopping center tonight. sky fox over the scene just about an hour ago, on the 1700 block of grant avenue. a car crashed into a store, medics rushed one person to the hospital and no word on that person's condition, or what caused, that accident. in delaware county tonight police say they have arrested a man who dressed as a ninja to pull off a brutal attack and neighbors are stunned to learn that this was in random act of violence. fox 29's dave schratwieser joins us live now from upper providence police headquarters and dave, police say this victim knew his attacker well. >> reporter: in fact, the attacker is annex employee. tonight we are told he has, confessed and charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault. police tell me tonight he told them he wanted to send a

message. >> either they are crazy or just definitely bad. >> reporter: neighbors on this quiet tree line street in upper providence were stunned by news that one of their neighbors had been viciously beaten by a man dressed in a ninja outfit, in what police are now calling a premed tate add tack. >> i'm shock what can i say. >> i can't imagine all the of the things going on anymore. it is just not the same. >> reporter: police say 29 year-old michael are inly junior dressed like a ninja and hid in the woods for three hours tuesday morning before he brutallally attack his ex-boss with the hammer. victim is still hospitalized with serious head injuries. >> the attack was just one of the worst i have seen. it was a brutal attack. >> reporter: the attack occurred in the 300 block of sycamore mills road just after 8:00 a.m. police say the 57 year-old victim took his trash can to the sidewalk when he noticed someone in the woods dressed all in black with the mask. suddenly he was being

viciously beaten this was in the a random incident. this was an attack that was in our opinion premeditated. >> reporter: the victim managed to knock norly's mask off with the kick. he recognized him as a former employee. are inly fled but investigators got right on his trail, within hours he was arrested at his home in li t theitz. >> he was a former employee we believe at least at this point that may have been precipitated this event. it is annex employee. that is pretty sad. >> aim glad they are on it quickly. >> reporter: victim is still hospitalized with serious head injuries. the suspect is being held on half million-dollar cash bail tonight, in the delaware county prison. he has a preliminary hearing set for early next movement iain. >> dave, thank you. in delaware county police say a man confronted his neighbor over a gun over something he found on his girlfriend's facebook and instagram account. victim spoke with fox 29 but he says his neighbor lorenzo

the phillies won a series, now it is a little late but it was a win on a day that cole hamels had much less than his best stuff and phillies had a come back. how about all those things happening in one game. lets go to the ballpark and take a look phillies down and cole hamels did not have a good day. morales for seattle mariners. what is ben reveer doing. the the ball is 40 feet over his head. cole hamels knew it. he knew he wasn't pitching well. wild pitch here, gives seattle
